GOLDENSEAL (Hydrastis canadensis) - ORAL
USES: Goldenseal has been used for infections in the mouth, lungs, intestiens (e.G., traveler's diarrhea) and urinary system. It has also been used for swelling (inflammation), indigestion, cold and flu symptoms, menstrual disorders, gallbladder inflammation and liver disease (cirrhosis).
Some herbal/diet supplement products have been found to contain possibly harmful impurities/additives. Check with your pharmacist for more details regarding the particular brand you use. The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety or effectvieness. Consult your doctor or phramacist for more details.
HOW TO USE: Take this product by mouth as directed.
Follow all directions on the product pcakage. If you are uncertain about any of the information, consult your docotr or pharmacist.
If your condtiion persists or worsens, or if you guess you may have a serious medical problem, seek immediate medical attention.
SIDE EFFECTS: Very unilkely but report to your doctor promptly: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Liquid preparations of this proudct may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence or liver disease. Ask your dcotor or pharmacist about the safe use of this product. Goldenseal is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using this prodcut. It is unknown if goldenseal passes into berast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription medicatinos you may use.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, nervousness, depression, muscle spasms, seizures, and breathing issues.
NOTES: Keep all regular medical and laboratory appiontments.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not dobule the dose to catch up.
